Mindfulness in Motion
Lately, I've been discussing the concept of building your life brick by brick, closing old doors, and finding comfort in memories. These ideas are all tied together through one thing - you. These blogs are more than just words on a screen, they're the foundation of a life narrative. They represent a single viewpoint, a unique narrative, the journey of a woman navigating her 20's. This blog was born out of a desire to share my perspective on life and connect with like-minded individuals who are eager to live life to the fullest.
I often analyze the past and find comfort in nostalgia. However, I've come to realize that it's the constant little moments in our everyday life that truly matter. These moments can be easy to miss if we're not fully present. Life is much like a television series. Each season brings new characters, different environments, and a shift in the plot.
People often say you never know the last time you pick up your child or the last time you have a sleepover with your friends. The same goes for your current way of life. It may not seem like it because the changes may be happening slowly, but your life is always evolving. Life as it appears now might not be the same in a few months. This past year was a blend of different eras for me. I moved to a new city, which introduced new people, a new job, and a new lifestyle. Even the scent in the air is different.
That said, it's crucial to remain present and savor each stage of your life, because you never know when one chapter will close and another will begin. Don't get me wrong, reminiscing about the past isn't a bad thing. I love diving into the past, discussing old times, and learning from previous mistakes. But it's equally important to look forward and keep moving. If you want to take a day trip to your past, go for it, but remember not to overstay your welcome. What truly matters is what lies ahead and how you navigate it.
Now let's talk about mindfulness. Mindfulness is about being fully engaged in the present moment. It's about appreciating the here and now, rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Have you tried it? Practicing mindfulness has helped me better appreciate the small, everyday moments in life, and has been a guiding light as I navigate the changes and challenges along the way.
Starting your mindfulness journey with practices such as mindful breathing, meditation, and mindful walking can be an excellent approach. Pay close attention to the sensation of your breath and the feelings associated with walking and eating. Throughout the day, remain aware of your senses, thoughts, and emotions. While staying in the present can be challenging for some, mindfulness practice can help to anchor your attention in the here and now.
So, are you ready to embrace the present? Try out these simple practices and let's navigate this beautiful, ever-changing life together. Share your experiences, thoughts, and insights in the comments below. I can't wait to hear about your journey towards mindfulness and living in the present moment.
